History and Tradition

Ron and Dionne Pope, the owners of Country Crossings, opened the original location in Snellville on August 22, 1994 because they felt the community needed a child development center committed to high quality programs. This remains their first and foremost goal as evidenced by their commitment to NAEYC accreditation and Center of Distinction standards. Both Ron and Dionne function as full time on-site directors. Another original goal of the center that continues is to offer a safe and secure “home away from home” environment. It is a priority to make our families feel welcome in the center at all times. We take pride in the relationships we build with our families each day.

The Popes reared their children in the Snellville community and were actively involved parents at the local schools and civic/recreational activities. Their children have since completed college and moved on to the working world. Ron and Dionne are also committed to establishing integral relationships with the Walton County community. Dionne is an active participant in the Walton County Pre-K Interagency Council meetings. A Walton County Kindergarten teacher is invited to attend the annual Pre-K Family Day to discuss the upcoming transition to Kindergarten. Ron and Dionne both have a good working relationship with many of the Walton County Early Childhood specialists and Babies Can’t Wait therapists that visit the center on a daily basis involved in early childhood intervention plans. Lastly, the school-age children visit senior citizens at a local facility to enhance the bonds between youth and seniors of our community.

The present location of Country Crossings (4010 Centerhill Church Road, Loganville, Georgia) was established on July 28, 2006. It is conveniently located across the street from Youth Elementary School and nearby to the intersection of Centerhill Church /Youth Monroe roads and Highway 81. It is also centrally located to many other elementary schools such as Atha, George Walton, Loganville Christian Academy, Sharon and Walnut Grove.

The Popes operated both the Snellville and the Loganville center for 3 ½ years. On November 23, 2009, they sold the Snellville location after 15 years of successful operation as a high quality center. This resulted from the Pope’s realizing that it was difficult to split time between the two locations and provide the quality commitment desired.

Open Enrollment

Enrollment in Country Crossings is open and nondiscriminatory (i.e. a child cannot be denied participation in the educational programs on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability). It is based on a first-come, first-served policy.

  Registration for State-Funded Pre-K Program

Each year our registration for this program is conducted during February for the upcoming school year. Please call the center and have your name placed on our courtesy list to receive a call in late January/early February advising of the details of registration (i.e. date, time, registration packets, open house visitation, etc.).
